Description
These mid-weight tee shirts were tie-dyed using wood from the Osage tree. The organic cotton 5.75 oz jersey is durable and continues to soften with age and washings. Each shirt is tie-dyed by hand, resulting in a unique pattern and color variation for each shirt. Golden Hour Dye strives to be a steward of natural dyeing, with all colors coming from botanical sources like roots, flowers, and wood, as well as natural dyes from insects like cochineal. Made from all-natural materials and dyes, this tee is compostable. It’s a small way to carry a piece of nature with you and, when the time comes, give it back to the earth. Care Tips: Wash in cool water with like colors and a mild, pH-neutral detergent (ex. Seventh Generation). Tumble dry low or hang dry to prolong cotton and natural dye quality. Avoid contact with cleaning products and acidic liquids (i.e., lemon juice) to prevent discoloration. Best practice for removing stains is to soak in cold soapy water overnight (pH-neutral), do not scrub stains, and then proceed with normal washing. Disclaimers: • Color may appear different in person than virtually due to screen brightness and photography lighting. I do my best to capture color accurately but it may vary. • Hand dyeing and natural dyeing are not intended to create 100% solid color – color may take darker / lighter in areas. This is part of the appeal of natural dyeing as it provides a lived-in, earthy color. • If you have questions, I’m happy to help, send a message through Etsy! • Please see the return policy before making a purchase. SOS from Texas: "SOS t-shirts are made from organic cotton grown on our certified organic farms. We have been certified organic by the Texas Department of Agriculture since 1992. This certification information is provided with our products to show our authenticity. We are finding organic products in the market with very vague organic credentials. U.S. Organic Standards require a 3-year chemical-free farming period before being allowed to be "certified organic." Our cotton is planted in mid-May and harvested after frost in November. The harvested cotton is ginned at our certified organic gin and then shipped to a certified mill in North Carolina for spinning into yarn. The yarn is also knitted, finished and sewn in the Carolinas. SOS products have a pedigree as we can tell you when and where they were planted and trace their development into a finished product. SOS organic cotton products are 100% Made in the USA, "sweat shop free", by American workers being paid a fair and lawful wage. These standards do not allow for a "cheap" organic t-shirt, but a product with a very high value and quality that our customers can be proud to wear for many years."
